I made a Drupal site for a couple in London and they
have unfortunately decided not to pay. With some assistance from a
Scottish friend, I filed against them in the English courts and we
have been scheduled for a 10-minute hearing on September 3rd in
Putney, London.
The problem is that I do not live in England, I am not able to travel to London for this, yet if no one appears, I think I will lose my claim against them.
Does anyone have any ideas where I could find someone to represent me for free or at least inexpensively? A professional solicitor's fees
are too high for the modest amount I am claiming against the couple.
Any ideas (whatsoever) how I can handle this are appreciated.
Thank you.

Have you contected the court directly to ask them if a written deposition is acceptable in this case, or a phone consultation? while the right to FACE your accusor is a foundation of English law there is a possibility that a court can use its judgment on the definition of face.
if a written deposition is acceptable might i recomend the KISS approach... Keep It Simple Stupid!
a good chronologicaly ordered, bullit pointed summery of the FACTS, no waffle, no conjecture, no BS. simple, clear, readable. i have never yet met a lawyer of any type who would thank you for wasting there time with trying to desifer what you MEANT from what you WROTE...
