Freelance Drupal odd-job person wanted

I am building a Drupal+CiviCRM site for a research charity in my spare time, but it's taking more time than I expected and I really need some expert help and guidance. I am experienced in JSP/MySQL but new to PHP, Drupal and CiviCRM. This phase is primarily Drupal work, as I try to recreate the old site in Drupal. The sort of help I need is:
  • theming, especially for menus, weblinks module output, civiEvents block, new views I will be making (I have made a start using the Zen Starter-Kit theme)
  • help with things I'm struggling to make work, e.g. filters for Image Browser
  • advice on how best to do things, e.g. add captions to images
  • help with next steps, e.g. implementing private organic groups and forums
I have a small budget and would suggest paying by task bundle defined in short sprints. I am really looking for someone who will see this as partnering me in this development. This is the sort of project that could extend if affordable. It would be a plus if you are interested in the subject matter; the old site is at www.spr.ac.uk. Please contact me with your thoughts about how to manage such a project, your experience and your freelance rates or suggestions for how to cost this as we go along.
